This season we built our 2025 robot, Hadal, to complete in the 2025 Reefscape Season. The name Hadal originates from the hadalpelagic zone in the ocean which is the darkest and lowest point in the ocean.
The game this year consisted of 4 field elements called the reef, the barge, the cage, and the processor. There was also 2 game pieces on the field this year they were the coral and algae. The goal of the game was to place the coral game pieces, which were PVC pipe, onto the different levels of the reef. The algae game pieces were able to be placed into the processor which was a low to the ground scoring area, or they were able to be placed up high in the barge which was located in the middle of the field.
This year we did a few things different. We anodized our robot so we could do a full blackout robot, we also put our electronics on the bottom of the belly pan and sandwiched another piece of poly carb to make sure the electronics were safe.
This season we hosted our annual Rookie Day, attended UCF STEM Day in April,
Over the 2025 season we were awarded the Gracious Professionalism Award at the Tallahassee Regional and the Alumni Award at Space Coast.
