Our Season
This season, we created our robot Delta-V, named after a measure of the impulse per unit of spacecraft mass that is needed to perform a maneuver such as launching from or landing on a planet or moon. To create our design, we gathered inspiration from the Ri3D team Unqualified Quokkas and 3467 Windham Windup. We competed at the Tallahassee Regional where we served as the 1st pick of Alliance 8, and the Orlando Regional, where we placed 12th overall and served as captain of Alliance 7. This marked the first time in team history that MECO served as alliance captain!
We also built a mini-bot that we named 16th note. We tried to make it the smallest possible legal FRC bot while still making it functional to use at compeition. Fortunately, we were able to field 16th note at Space Coast Showdown 2024. Although, it could only score in the amp it was still a very fun bot to design, build, program, and drive.
Off-Seasons & Outreach
During the 2024 season we attended 3 off-season competitions: WVRoX, Space Coast Showdown, and Roboticon. This was the first time that we had attended WVRoX. It's an endurance competition hosted by team 2614 MARS. The competition itself was 26 hours and 14 minutes long. This was an amazing learning opportunity for our team since we had quick turnaround within matches and had to quickly repair our robot.
We also hosted our annual Rookie Day. At our rookie day we help teams get their robot up and running for the Orlando Regional that typically falls in March. This year we helped teams 9670 The Gadgeteers, Robonoticos 7565, and Belize It. We had different workshops for business, media, mechanical, electrical, and CAD. We were also able to lend these teams help at the actual competitions and lent batteries to them.
This year we earned the "Out of this World" from team 4150 at the West Virginia Robotics Xtreme.
